What Is Workers' Comp?
Employers buy workers’ compensation insurance to support their employees’ care and recovery in case of a workplace injury. This process might seem overwhelming, but it’s designed around your best care, prompt healing, and return to productivity.
Capital RC&D carries Workers’ Comp Insurance through The Hartford Insurance Company. This policy covers work related injuries or illnesses, helping with medical care and supplies, prescriptions, transportation, and lost wages.
What to do if you are injured:
1. If injury requires an ambulance, call 911 immediately.
2. If injury is less serious, The Hartford Insurance has a list of preferred providers for you to use to ensure expenses are covered:

d. For injuries specifically involving automobile glass, please call 1-877-687-1279
Using a Hartford Insurance Preferred Provider is required to have a work-related injury covered by Capital RC&D’s Workers’ Comp Policy.
3. Notify your immediate supervisor, as well as Capital RC&D – WCPolicy@capitalrcd.org-AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. Capital RC&D will provide you with the Workers Comp. Insurance Policy Number that is needed to complete the claim.

5. Please see the form below for a list of information you will need for starting a claim. After submitting necessary information to The Hartford Insurance, please send copies of all forms submitted to WCPolicy@capitalrcd.org. Keep both your direct supervisor and Capital RC&D informed about your injury and recovery status.
